Resources and Funding

Resources

The systemwide Office of Public Engagement has compiled a Partnership Toolbox that provides resources offering guidance and support for navigating the many stages of University-community partnerships. From online trainings to a guide on how you can compensate community partners, this toolbox has valuable resources for faculty and staff.

Funding

UMD Engage is offering a minimum of ten mini grants up to $500 (limit 1 grant per faculty member per academic year) to support the expansion and enhancement of community-engaged learning within a course-based experience. The awarded projects will directly benefit the community through course-based teaching/learning activities in collaboration with an identified external partner(s). Mini grants aim to support faculty in their efforts to establish new community partnerships and/or further develop existing partnerships.

Deadline:  Applications for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 will be accepted until Friday, May 10, 2024 at 5PM.  Applications submitted by this date will be reviewed by the Public Engagement Coordinator and an internal team of faculty/staff. Notification of award will be made by the end of May 2024.
